Chinese Music Ensemble
Learn to play chinese music for your breadth study! Musical Director Dr Wang Zheng Ting (Founder and Director, Australian Chinese Music Ensemble; master musician of the sheng).This ensemble is open to all students. It is not auditioned, but students need to have some instrumental skills in Chinese and/or Western instruments.
You will play traditional, folk, and contemporary Chinese music. The group will mainly be based on the silk-bamboo (strings and wind) ensemble in China, with the following instruments taught: dizi, sheng, yangqin, erhu,zhonghu, zhongruan, daruan, and some percussion. Instruments are supplied.
