Katrina McFerran

KATRINA MCFERRAN (nee Skewes) PhD RMT completed her doctorate at the University of Melbourne on the topic of music therapy group work with bereaved adolescents. She has published extensively on the relationship between music and adolescents in both local journals and internationally. Katrina has been invited to attend both national and international forums on music therapy with teenagers and qualitative research in music therapy, as well as presenting at numerous conferences including the World Congress of Music Therapy in Oxford, 2002. In 2003, Katrina was Acting Director of the MA in Music Therapy at the Irish World Music Centre, University of Limerick. She is now Lecturer in Music Therapy at the Faculty of Music, responsible for coordinating Music Therapy for Child Clients and two of the core Music Therapy Methods units.

Katrina's research interests are concentrated on music and adolescents, with special focus on paediatric palliative care and eating disorders.
