Suzanne Robinson

SUZANNE ROBINSON BMus(Hons) PhD

Suzanne Robinson completed a PhD at the University of Melbourne in 1991, with a thesis entitled " 'The Pattern from the Palimpsest": the influence of T.S. Eliot on Michael Tippett'. Since that date she has been Australian Research Council Postdoctoral Fellow at Monash University, Melbourne, and Lecturer in Musicology at the University of Melbourne. In 1998 she was awarded an Australia Council writers' grant, and in 2001 the C.H. Currey Fellowship at the State Library of NSW, to research the life and works of Peggy Glanville-Hicks, her current project. She is editor of the collection of essays on Tippett entitled Tippett: Music and Literature, published in 2002. Her research interests include relations between poetry and music in the music of Britten and Tippett; feminist musicology and Australian women composers, particularly Peggy Glanville-Hicks and other expatriates.
