Faculty of Music

Faculty of Music Undergraduate Courses

For students commencing in 2008 (Melbourne model degrees)

Continuing degrees (pre-2008 enrolment)

Flexibility is one of the key features of the Faculty's courses. Students may choose to make music the sole focus of their studies, to mix music with other subjects, or simply to include a single music subject in a broad, liberal arts program.

Summer Semester

Students who wish to accelerate their courses may take some subject during the Summer Semester. The Summer Semester begins in early January and comprises seven weeks of intensive lessons. Students may take a Practical Study subject and a Music Techniques subject, giving a total of 25 points.

To allow students sufficient time for exam preparation and practice, exams for the summer subjects are held in the last week of March, five weeks after lessons finish.
