Klop Chamber Organ

This is the best instrument of its type in Melbourne and was bought with a grant from the Harold  Mitchell Foundation to be permanently housed at the EMS, but to be available for use by community organisations as well as students of the university. The instrument is therefore available for hire from the EMS.

8' Gedeckt, 4' Chimneyflute, 4’ Principal, 2' Fifteenth. All stops draw separately bass/treble. All pipes made in wood.

Besides the warm and carrying tone, wooden pipes have the advantage of being lighter and less vulnerable than metal ones. They stay very well in tune, even after transportation. The pipes are tunable to standard pitches over a wide range of ambient temperatures (12 – 25 degrees C). Special historic temperaments may be tuned.
