Context: A Journal of Music Research

Context is a refereed (peer-reviewed) international music journal that publishes original research concerning all aspects of music and music-related fields. In addition to publishing articles, Context presents reviews of recent publications (not CDs), interviews, research reports, and abstracts of recently passed Australian research theses in music. Context is edited and produced by a committee of postgraduate students, recent graduates, and staff of the Faculty of Music, University of Melbourne.

The editorial committee invites contributions to Context at any time in the form of articles on historical musicology, ethnomusicology, music theory and analysis, reviews, abstracts, letters, and interviews with composers or other music practitioners such as instrumentalists, conductors, educators and musicologists. Please view our guidelines for contributors and editorial policy prior to submitting any material.

Context is fully indexed in RILM (Repertoire Internationale de Litterature Musicale), the International Index to Music Periodicals and in the Music Index.
