 Interlibrary Loans

Fourth year and higher degree research students should not limit their research to the holdings of the Melbourne University libraries. Material held in other libraries, both Australian and international, is available via the Interlibrary Loan service.

Fourth year Dissertation Students

Dissertation Students are eligible to apply for loans from other Australian libraries.

Loan forms are available from the ILL desk on the ground floor of the Library. All requests must be signed by you supervisor.

Masters and PhD students

Higher degree students are eligible to apply for loans from both international and Australian libraries. Forms are available from the ILL desk on the ground floor of the Library. Online application is also possible, except I don't really know how to do it!

ILL are processed more quickly if you have done the work of locating the required item yourself. Tools for locating books and journals in other libraries are discussed in the Locating section of this site.

RISM maintains an online Libraries Directory, which identifies more than 5,500 libraries world-wide that hold music materials relevant to RISM series. All libraries are identified by name and RISM siglum. Other information provided can include: address, phone/fax numbers, links to relevant Internet resources, and literature about the library.
